Runners are required to carry the following with them at all times -
- Survival (space) blanket
- Whistle
- Race number
- Water container (minimum, two liter capacity)
- Personal unbreakable cup/mug of at least 150ml (water bottle not accepted)
The following items are banned, and may not be carried by participants for the duration of the event -
- MP3 players or any other device which makes use of ear plugs
- Firearms
Any runner found without an item of mandatory equipment will be disqualified, and any runner found to be carrying a banned item will be disqualified and suspended from all future events.
GPS devices and hiking poles are permitted. There is no cell phone coverage in the area.
