"The race was a bit tougher than I anticipated but I also made it tougher by running the earlier section a bit harder than I should have. In the end it comes down to experience and a besides the running learning curve, it was a great experience to be there. As for the medal, you know me, so I am really a happy about that one- what a pleasure to add that one to my list.The trip was a good one."

"One feature I enjoyed on Saturday was the fact that we could actually 'run' a large portion of the course, walking was permitted to only the steepest of hills

Running in isolated areas, where very little evidence of human activity is present, that was quite special.

Then.....that downhill at the end....you know.... everyone talked about it after the event, but not many actually complained. To me it was quite 'hectic' but it made the event unique & who does not enjoy showing off a few battle scars!!!! I also learned something there.... to pay more attention at race briefings!! In hindsight it was very clear what we had to do down that hill, please do not omit it from next years' run.

The prize giving was great, did not have that boring "road running lucky draw" theme to it!!

Ek dink dat die roete baie goed uitgesit is, en dat die pad goed gemerk was. Wat lekker was, was dat die meeste van die pad ‘hardloopbaar' was, maar dit was tog ‘n goeie challenge wat mens geestelik en fisies baie goed getoets het. Die ‘views' was ongelooflik... net so mooi soos die Baviaans kan wees!

Thank you so much I cannot wait for next year. My little spekboompe arrived safely in Hartbeespoort, survived the drive and flight. We will be sending some great photos. I have been showing off and at least have something to demonstrate that this race is not for the faint hearted, besides sore muscles.
