You can measure a company's service levels when they provide a service without charging.

Algoa Brick, Taylor's Trailer Hire and Signarama Port Elizabeth provided generous complimentary & fantastic service when we repaired the Bergplaas hut in the Baviaanskloof. Thank you.

We are very proud to confirm that PiA Solar is partnering with the Baviaanskloof Trail Run as our Title Sponsor.

PiA Solar is the leading African-borne Solar PV Mounting Systems supplier and Installer of plant sizes ranging from commercial to utility scale.

Announcing the partnership, Colin Muller, Chief Executive Officer of PiA Solar said

“The Baviaans Run is soundly eco-focussed from its no-cup-no-run rule to giving every participant a spekboom tree to take home. It’s a natural fit for PiA Solar which is a major player in providing solar solutions. We believe that the healthy lifestyle choices made by trail runners is an important part of eco-awareness, and of course being out in the spectacular Baviaanskloof wilderness is an added bonus not only for the runners but also for those PiA Solar staff who will be assisting as crew at the event. We are very excited about our involvement”

Overview 2016

E-mail Print PDF

The headline summary for the 8th Baviaanskloof Trail Run would read -

  • Ideal running conditions, overcast with light rain 'up top' and misty rain at Start/Finish throughout the day
  • Runners enjoyed the hospitality at the PiA Solar 'picnic spot'
  • Hanno Smit took the win on a count-back, with Alan Mildenhall & Gavin Gresse taking the other podium spots
  • Marieke Roux took the ladies title following her 2nd position in 2015
  • Katherine van der Walt (2nd overall) was first 40+, and Hanno Smit took home two leopard spoor trophies (1st overall and 1st 40+)
  • Youngsters waiting at the finish for Mom/Dad/Oupa/Ouma enjoyed playing in the fresh air while drinking First Choice flavoured milk (toffee flavour was the hands down winner)
  • Ford Ranger 4x4's worked hard all weekend supporting the event; with Eastern Cape Motors providing local support
  • A new group joined the 'Legends of the Baviaanskloof'
  • 'Legend of Legends' awards will start from 2017
  • The pristine remote roughness of the Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve wilderness area remains a stunning trail run area which the ECP & TA generously share and permit us to 'run with legends'
